This is very exciting to me. Does anyone know what this new growth is. Could it be a new root or maybe a spike? Also is it to late in the season for a spike to appear?

Probably a bit too early to tell. You'll know for sure in a few more days. Post another pic in about a week, and we can give you a for sure answer. If I had to guess though, I'd figure root since it's kind of high in the leaf bract. But I've been wrong before. Good luck

I would say its a root, as the tip is very rounded.

Most likely a root. Spikes are more "pointy".

Who knew a tiny growth can be so exciting!!

I would also say root, also because Phals rarely put out a spike in the same spot as a previous one. And as the others say, it looks a bit too rounded to be a spike.
But since your plant had root rot, a new root is VERY good news! |
