Dendrochilum curranii culture?
 

My understanding is that this particular one should have bloomed. It appears that it has bloomed in the past so I'm curious how others grow these.

Mine is in a clay pot sitting in a windowsill and I plan to keep it there since my understanding is that it likes to have somewhat even year-round temperatures.

It's packed in a little bit of sphag with styrofoam peanuts in the bottom and it is a very tight fit in the pot.

I water it about every two days because it appears to dry out fairly quickly in the clay pot.

Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I read that this is endemic to the Philippines(Pacific Islands); an equatorial part of the world...there is no winter rest rest period since that country only have rainy moonsoons and humid hot summers...
I would mimic the environment it is used to by using...electric fan; humidifier, heater and water spray
what you are doing is fine, you have the correct instincts
I also read that it is fragrant.
The flowers look like its fragile and delicate...but who knows: it might be a sturdy plant after all as all tenacious orchids are

I've got one of these. I can report that it's a bit fussier than my other Dendrochilum species, and I haven't quite got the culture nailed down. What I do know is that Dendrochilums as a rule are water hogs, and like to be kept moist. They also like to be potbound, so don't repot even if it looks like it needs it. They hate root disturbance and will potentially sulk for a season if you mess with them. Hope this helps! -Stephen

This makes sense. I think it may have been recently reported before I bought it as the roots aren't attached to the pot yet.
