Unknown Paph hybrid needs ID
1 Attachment(s)
Hi, any help identifying this paph would be greatly appreciated. Looked a bit like Pink Sky, but the yellow disc is very distinct. Looks like it has some roth in the background perhaps?
The flowers are large, and the plant likes low light. Underside of the leaves is reddish. Three to five flowers opening in succession. Thanks |
Yes a primary hybrid with possibly parvi or brachy in it. I am thinking someone will know what exactly it is.

very nice, whatever the name is....i am no help, lol....gl

It's beautiful! Kind of looks like Delrosi(roth X delenatii) as far as the shape of the bloom, but I've not seen a Delrosi with that distinctive yellow staminode. That yellow really pops out in your picture.
You might want to ask the folks over on Slippertalk. Bill |
I have a Delrosi, and like Bill says, it looks similar in every aspect except for that bright yellow bit.
|
I wasn't sure of that, I have a couple of Delrosi but they looked a bit different. But that makes sense.
|
Thanks all for your responses. I do have a delrosi, but the leaves are very different, but perhaps that is just variation. I will post on slippertalk and see if anyone else has any ideas.
|
Let us know what your investigations uncover.

Looks like a hybrid that Norman's Orchids has listed right now: delenatii x Deena Nicol. Has the yellow staminoide, at least.
Here's the link Paph. (delenatii x Deena Nicol) |
Thanks Evan, that does look remarkably similar.
Cheers mike |
