I know that there are much better pictures of this species on the net, but I just felt like posting these pictures. It is a reliable bloomer for me. I grow it on a branch I collected on a walk in a pristine area of our river valley before it was "improved" by a paved walkway.

Nice! I like how natural it looks on that mount.
|
Well I still think that they are very nice photos!! I love your mount, it gives the plant a tree like appearance.
|
Great mount. How do you water/feed this plant?
|
Love this one - it just started blooming for me and it looks like little candy corns! I'm curious what your culture is as well. These are not one you see very often.

Thanks for the encouragements. I love this undemanding species and I love the mount for the memories of a beautiful spot. I grow this plant in cool/int. conditions in a converted fish tank, in front of a window. It gets bright, indirect light, high humidity, and it gets sprayed with rain water daily when in bud or growth, every other day (or so) when resting. It gets fertilized weekly, weakly. There is a drainage gap in the bottom of the pot. I don't understand why this species is not more popular.

Wow - how awesome is that??? :wtg:

Love it, love it. It just became more popular as I placed an order IMMEDIATELY after seeing this pic, with Mountain orchids it should be here Wed. or thursday. Thanks ...Jean

Love this orchid, thanks for sharing your pics. I still need to get one of these some time, almost bought one in March then chickened out.
|
I too like the way you are growing your plant. It adds so much more character than the common stick mount. Great idea and great looking little plant.
