It finally bloomed; this bizare ,primitive creature.!:)
Its in the Spiranthes alliance, but its an epiphyte. Its tiny, waxy and hairy, and its from Brazil. Enjoy! |
Fantastic weird mini. Thanks for posting.
Conditions for this one? |
This is a plant I've always wanted., If you ever have a division, I'd be happy to trade something for it.
|
Why do you call this one "primitive"? I'd love to know what your growing conditions are, seen the plants mounted in the back ground. I've never seen this one before, but I'm intrigued.
|
Its primitive because it belongs to a primitive group-the spiranthoids. Most are terrestrials ,but this and Eurystylis and a few others have taken to the trees.
Not terribly difficult to grow, cool, humid and moist suit it well;but it is attractive to slugs.! |
Thanks lepanthes. I'm really averse to slugs. If ever I can get one, it will be kept far away from my lepanthes collection.
|
Very cute plant!
Ezil, unless you already have slugs in your lepanthes collection, I'm sure you'd be fine. ;) |
Holy smokes - that IS tiny! Very cool! :wtg:
|
Super cute mini! :congrats:
|
Wow! That is so cool!!! A Spiranthes relative that has taken up living on trees. Never thought I would see the day :). I love it.
