ASCF. Twinkle

Was sure where to put this one but seeing that it's have neo, I figured this forum is as good as any.

I've read it has a scent but I haven't noticed any yet-- though it's brand new to my collection.

Anyone have experience growing this guy? I have plans to plant it in S/H as soon as it makes sense to.

Ryan, I don't grow any of these, so can't comment on the culture. I just wanted to say what a gorgeous colour those blooms are!!

Thank you! They certainly caught my eye at the garden center which is why it followed me home.

I have had my Twinkle for about three years. I LOVE it--probably the only vandaceous orchid I can grow. I have mine is S/H and the roots went wild--fat and soooooo green!! Unfortunately, I don't think I have ever noticed a scent from it--not even in the summer when I have her outside.
The color is fantastic on yours!! Keep up the good work and do try S/H...;)

That's great to hear about the sh culture. I rely 100% on sh culture with one exception and that is a Vanda. I have neos and my Neostylis in sh and all are thriving so it is good to hear that the ascf has kept the gene for being able to thrive in sh.

Here is a better photo of its current blooms. I spent a fair amount of time looking at the blooms and comparing it to what was on the screen to what the real color is. The color was hard to capture.

nice plant and flowers :)

Mine is spiking but I don't think its going to have so many flowers. I grow mine in the little jars along with neostylis and species neofinetias. I have a species ascocentrum miniatum that grows the same way. They do well for me and dont die .We worry about more blooms next time.
great job!!!

I like it! Have you noticed any scent yet?

Really like the color! Very pretty blooms!

Gorgeous color! Good to know about the s/h, too. I might try that with my Neofinetia Moonlight Firefly, which is Twinkle crossed back to Neo. falcata. So far it's doing way better than my two Neo's ever did (i.e. the roots are actually growing, instead of the plant just sitting there slowly dying). But I still might move it to s/h at some point.
