Frogs

:hello
soo I have this phobia of frogs (ranidophobia) yep there is name for it, I know they are harmles and all that good stuff, but does anywone knows a good repellent ???
my hubby is building a shade house, but my biggest concern is frogs getting inside. I'm trying to build it frog proof but those little suckers get into tiny bitty places and just seat there waiting to attack me (feels like it) lol.

frogs in twos can be a lucky fung sui...it augurs good omen of prosperity(look at the frogs holding a coin in their mouth on any Chinese sculptures)if it enters your house or property...you must not shoo it away, but just let them be...they will go away by themselves...its their habitat and the real estate developer happened to build on their turf...
the best frog repellent is a cat

Frog are just part of living in paradise! (FL) Where there's water you'll usually find a frog. Just think about all the bugs they're eating that otherwise could be chewing on your plants. Early morning and early evening are the best time to see them. Did you see this pic

Lizards and snakes are the best repellent I can think of. Cats may work and we have a dog that we were trying to get trimmed down and she kept gaining weight. Took her outside one evening and she got in amongst the flower beds and started eating frogs. They must be high in calories.

My nephew has this same phobia. He was helping me pick green beans in the garden one day and almost grabbed a little frog that was in them. He went screaming like a little girl and wouldn't go in the garden any more.

I'm sorry to hear you have this phobia. Can't help you keep them out of the shadehouse, but I do hope you can make peace with whatever experience started this phobia. :)

I also hope that you can make peace with this phobia. The area that we have moved to has loads of tree frogs and the odd red legged frog, but I really miss the big green frogs that used to live in our pond. They became so tame that I could pick them up and pet them. I'm sorry that you don't get to see what wonderful, useful creatures they are.

I used to love frog hunting as a child. We would go back to the same place year after year and the same frogs would be there. Some had tricks to avoid being caught. One would cry like a baby when you caught it, so you felt sorry for it. One would immediately pee on you so you dropped it. Another was an expert at jumping backwards.

you'd get freaked out with me...I still have the habit of catching frogs and putting them in my pockets... they will break free at some point that I am off guard and jump all over the room
