Presenting : Aerangis biloba

This is a small species from Western and Central Africa found growing as an epiphytic in shady forests and thickets. I grow this in intermediate conditions, (65F) with high humidity 90%(sprayed in the morning and near the humidifier). It grows best mounted and my preference is tree fern, although other growers prefer cork bark. I discovered that this species tend to get leaf burn quite easily if the leaves are wet and gets under direct sunlight; so I avoid any direct sun.
This is its first time bloom and I am lucky to have three 2 inches flowers that looks like its edges were eaten by bugs, maybe its a mechanical thing. I thought the buds would blast because it got weird bud colors.
I don't know what it means but its two-lobed...referring maybe to the leaves

What a beauty. Well done. Bud, where do you live that you can grow this guy outside? I thought you were in Boston. In any event, great flowers on this one. Nice work.

Thank You...J !
Nope , I dont grow this outdoors. I only photograph it real quick outdoors...my windows are full so its not conducive to a pictorial(I would need a lighting equipment indoors) so...I bring it seven floors downstairs at the back of my apartment building and hang it on a treebark by the sidewalk; and when the sun shines bright: I click away
*I was born and bred in Boston and now live in the East Village of Manhattan, NY

Thank You, Dude...
This plant can thrive very well in your Terrarium...its a nice miniature that is easy to care for...

I have one but am not growing it in a terrarium. The one time I did have one in a terrarium, it lost all its leaves and died.

that is odd...hope you get lucky with your new plant
