C. Memoria Midori Nakano
Aside from the fact that I think this is a good looking flower, I thought I'd use this opportunity to show how the different color balance selections available on some DSLR can make the final picture look. All of the pictures were taken with natural light and have not been altered using Photoshop or other software. They are all taken with the same camera, Nikon D-90 and lens, Sigma EX 105mm Macro. I trust you will be able to see the different shades of color. Everyone's monitor will have some variation but the first group are more true to the color as seen with the human eye.
These were taken with the white balance set to "Shade". http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...ori-Nakano.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...ri-Nakano1.jpg This group were taken with the white balance set to "Cloudy". http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...kanoCloudy.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...anoCloudy1.jpg And the last group set to "Sun". http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...NakanoSun1.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...-NakanoSun.jpg |
Very pretty! I've never played around with the white balance on my Nikon. With your pictures I think I like the results of the 'Sun' setting best. Which pictures are the most true to life.

Very interesting. I too, have never played with the white balance when photographing my orchids. I'm going to try it this afternoon. Thanks
