Onc. Ornithorynchum round 2!
So pretty! I can't believe that as soon as its first two spikes were done blooming, two new ones were ready to take their place :)
I have 2new PBs on the way do these guys always flower continuously, this is my first experience of them? http://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-ad13-fb5c.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-ad48-71a1.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-ad84-f3d5.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-ad9f-ea3b.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-adb4-2f9e.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-add3-ff9c.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-adec-26b9.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-ae09-b4cb.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/56067cf5-ae97-6702.jpg This last picture is from its first blooming a couple of months ago. Not some many flowers this time but I'm not surprised as it hasn't had a break between blooming :D |
OMG, Had a hard time finding the reply box - too many photos I think.
Anyways very beautiful orchid, looks like you're doing real well with that one - Good growing!! :) |
That's lovely! I'll have to add that to my wishlist!

Yours looks great!!
I have had mine for 7 or 8 years, and it blooms for me around late December pretty much every year. Mine has 3 spikes right now with lots of buds that should open soon. Can't wait for it to open. I love the smell. Good Growing Ruth |
I love the Twinkles, they are so nice to grow. Right now I'm looking for one called Musaki 'Only You'. That name has special meaning for wife and I, but so far, can't seem to locate it.
Yours is really lovely and obviously very well grown. Cheers, Tony |
Beautiful photos!! I had no idea that they could bloom several times a year. Are they blooming off the same bulbs as the previous time, or on new ones?
Mine's not doing anything. I bought it early October and it finished blooming, but I'm not seeing any new growths emerging. |
They're blooming off new PBS Camille, it had 2 maturing PBs when I got it at the begining of the year... one more along in growth than the other.
The first one took ages to bloom but I think from the pleats and that I've upped the watering schedule, I probably wasn't watering often enough... However it had LOADS of flowers, way too many to count!... One of those spikes is shown in the last picture :) While the first PB was in bloom the second matured and sent out the current 2 spikes that grew really fast, within a few weeks, but are alot shorter and have less flowers... and now it's also growing 3 more PBs at different rates... 2 from the PBs that's done flowering and 1 so far from the one that's still in flower! I will see if I can get a pic... I've never had one of these before it's all new to me! I don't know if it will continue to flower all year through or what? Either way it smells so good it makes my mouth water so I definately don't mind.... So pretty!! I've been so impressed there's another in the post for my mum for Xmas :D |
|
Maybe it's one that flowers as soon as the bulbs mature? Me too, I LOVE the smell! I just can't get enough of it. The spikes weren't very large so the fragrance wasn't so intense, but I'd stick my nose near them any chance I got. :)
