Phal with keiki

I have a NOID Phal that I was given last December. It has a keiki on an old spike and I have some questions:

1) Is keiki pronounced "kay-key" or "Kay-ee-key" or some other way?

2) The longest leaf (of 3) on the keiki is 3.5" long (8.9 cm) and the roots total a length of 3.5" as well. Can this keiki be safely removed now?

3) If yes, what size pot should I use?

4) Finally, in my last picture there is what I believe to be another keiki forming on this same spike, just lower down. Do you think it is another keiki as well?

I'm not worried about the health of the plant as it has grown and bloomed well for me. I believe it probably just has a species in its' background that produces a lot of keikis.

New keiki?

Thanks for all the help,

I say key-key but a few say kay-key, I say po-tot-oh you say po-tate-oh !!!

You could remove it and pot it up now but I would let the roots get a bit longer, about another inch.

Use a 2" pot and sphagnum moss or very fine bark. I prefer moss and I water when it gets crunchy on top.

Looks like another keiki forming.

I also pronounce it key-key. I think Merlyn has given you some good advice. I agree that the keikei is large enough to pot but what's the rush. Let it grow a little larger and it will be even stronger when you pot it. I also agree with the size of the pot. I get the best results when I put phals in the smallest possible pot that I can fit them into. And yes, that looks like another keikei to me also. Congratulations, good growing.
