SucraCare Insecticide--What pH?
I have been using SucraCare for pests in the greenhouse. I have been using it all Summer and have been reading about effective use. It mentions that if the pH is below 7 after the concentrate is mixed with water, you need to raise the pH to make it more basic. What would be good to use to change the pH. Any experience with this?
PS. I have stopped spraying for the time being because I have introduced 250 Cryptolaemus montrouzieri beetles into my 15X20 greenhouse to control mealy bugs as suggested by Camille. I have my finger crossed. |
Well it's tough to say without knowing what you're actual pH is after you add SS to your water. Are you using tap water or RO/Rain water? I would guess the tap water should have the highest pH, given the unbuffered RO water.
You could use anything from sodium hydroxide to pH up sold by Dyna-Gro. I've used SS with normal tapwater and the pH sits right around 7-8. Hopefully you can let us know what the pH is when you add it to your water. |
Have you considered Dyna-Gro Pro-teKt?

also try to introduce mantis in your GH...they will clean your plants with bugs...I dont know if they will eat your beetles tho
