This one has been flowering the whole summer: the flowers last about 3 days and are very painful to photograph as they are hanging down. In particular if you have 4-5 on one spike. This one only had two: so I managed to do some "arranging" of the flowers for the photo-shot

Similar to Gongora: maybe more on the moist side. The plants do need lots of moisture but great drainage. I grow mine in CHC mixed with perlite in a epiweb basket. The plants are often also grown in spaghnum, but in my growing conditions spaghnum stays soggy for too long on cool days. High humidity all year round, less in winter. In nature, they grow from 60F night to 80F daytime all year round. I keep mine on the warm side of intermediate, which is fine. Light that suits Phal's will do.

One of the keys is to make sure that new shoots don't get wet during cooler weather as new shoots rot very easily and you can loose a plant quite quickly.

Lars - Great species, I have grown it, cristata and the hybrid between the two Majestic. They are a very rewarding group of plants to grow. If you are getting that many flowers at one time, don't complain, it's not an easy task to accomplish. Great job growing them.

Thank you Lars!!

I have Paphinia cristata, but it doesn't bloom. :( or...no yet, I'm not sure if it is an adult plant.

Thats cool! I also used to grow Majestic and it bloomed 3 or 4 times per year.
