Gorgeous sunsets!

My hubby and I have been spending a lot of time at our cabin recently. The fall colours have been just wonderful and the temperatures on the prairies have been breaking some heat records and some days topped off at 33 Celsius in late Sept! So what's not to love?? Our farmers have had early and great harvest weather. We were fortunate to see some beautiful sunsets from our beach and our deck in the last week. Both hubby and I think they might be some of the best we have seen in our lifetime! Attached are a few photos of them from two evenings. The harvest dust in the atmosphere could contribute to the rich reds just like when a volcano sends ash into the atmosphere. The one with the silhouette is my hubby!

Wow, what gorgeous sunsets! The 3rd pic is so amazing it's surreal. The lake/river doesn't look like it's water, it looks like a pool of mist! I don't know if you've watched Lord of the Rings, but the sky makes me think of the sky over Mordor.
You truely are lucky to live in a place like that. The weather's been amazingly warm here too, but no pretty sunsets!

Thanks for sharing, Silken :D

Thanks Camille and Gloria. Just had to share. We have some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world here, but these seemed to top many of those even. My photos are taken with a DSLR and I use RAW format so I likely will enlarge one of these and possibly to a good size even. Maybe framed to hang in the cabin!

We have seen Lord of the Rings and I get what you are saying! I also didn't enhance or exaggerate these in any way to make them more dramatic. This is how we saw the sunsets. The clouds were very dramatic which helped!

I believe you about the photos being unenhanced. Such beauty does exist, you just have to be in the right place at the right time! The north of the Netherlands can get some quite gorgeous sunsets too, some blood red. I have a beautiful shot of one of those.

Excellant pics, Silken. Camille's comments on the third pic were exactly what I was going to say.

Magnificent!

Simply beautiful.:bowing I love sunsets and sunrise's when I'm in the Glades. For some reason they tend to have more color then in the city. Here's a sunrise shot over an open plain and a Sunset shot that same day. Not as sharp as your shots but I love the colors.

Very nice. The sunrise is quite similar to the sunset!

Yeah they are. the only difference really is there wasn't any moon in the sunrise shot. The moon and Jupiter was below the sun. so as the day went on and the sun set you were able to see both moon and planet.
