Windowsill Section in "STYLES, SETUPS & ENCLOSURES"?

seems like it would be nice to have a Windwsill section in STYLES, SETUPS & ENCLOSURES heading.
a lot of folks start out in their kitchens and living rooms and folks like me stay that way for years with no hope or plans to change.
Windowsill growing has a lot of its own often unique issues,
  • like how to pick the right part of the house for what type of orchid
  • how to fight humidity/heat needs between you home and your chids
  • clever watering that does not trash your house or take all day

anyway i was about to ask some questions and share some insight about my set up that i am about to work on improving and felt like there was nowhere that it really belonged.

what do you folks think about a new subsection?

hmm ...

here's a :bump: - hopefully there will be some feedback on your suggestion

I think it'd be great to have this kind of info in its own subsection.

I'm curious to see how other people grow their orchids in windowsills, as this is how I am doing it too.

I would really like that. I have a very diverse group, but no artificial light, or humidifiers. Just my windowsills & my sink! Would love to get ideas

Is there not enough options for you to post pics of your windowsills already? I think there is as I cant find my post from 2 days ago as its been buried so deep in here there is so much. Just another item to bury for the photo rich.

I also would welcome a Windowsill section.
Always seem to have some overflow from my greenhouse, a section that helps me choose which one to put in "The 'Sill" would be mighty welcome!

I don't really see this as just another "photo op" section.
I think it's maybe motivated to be more about guidance and creativity in the use of limited space....

I imagine that there are some inexperienced folks around here who need help trying to decide what they can do with windowsill culture and how far they can take that. I don't see how such a forum section could do any harm. ;)

There's a button down below the posts that let you subscribe to your threads/posts, you know, if you are losing track of your schtufff, due to all the horrible photos in here... ;););)

Really want to bump this back up for consideration.
I talk to folks all the time that think they can't grow more special orchids because they are windowsill growers. Or folks that have taken on a wider variety and have really inventive ways of making it work. Everything gets adapted, I for instance am currently working on a watering system that is going to be for my "glorified windowsill" (I have a shelf in front of my window) and there are tons of hurdles that I would not have if it were in a grow room or a greenhouse. I'm chating about it in S/h section even though it has broader use and would be better in a "Set Ups" area

Please give us a section, most everyone started on their windowsill with a gift orchid!

I have a windowsill set up just like yours. I've got a shelf with 8 plants on it now. Would be could to be able to compare and have its own section.
