Greetings from CO
I've been growing about 7 years in northern Colorado and have tried a little of everything. Currently growing mostly species catts and laelias in a bright east window with an "overflow" group under lights below the window. About 60 plants total. Space is limited, so I've opted for compact plants, mostly C walkeriana and nobilior, some rupiculous laelias and a few primary hybrids. Just dropped $100 on a plant for the first time, so I think I'm addicted! I'd love to find a nice C dolosa and would be interested to hear what others have on their "wish list".
This is my first experience with an online community, and I'm not really sure what to expect. Looking forward to hearing what others are growing and their experiences along the way. Thanks! |
:hello:waving
:welcomeflowers: Glad you found us! Quite a friendly group here, and many members who have been growing orchids many years - so lots of good advice to be had ;) We looooooooooove pix! So don't be shy about posting them - your orchids, other plants, pets, wildlife, etc ;) |
Requirements for pics
Thanks for the warm welcome! I do have a number of pics I'd love to put up (right now I'm the only one enjoying them). What are the requirements for posting, particularly size and format? Thanks!

Hi, Welcome to OB!
:welcomeflowers: Online communities are fun, I don't know many orchid people where I live so it's a great way to talk about orchids. We have serious discussions, and not so serious discussions. And share lots of photos too. Too get you started with posting photos you can have a look here. http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ng-photos.html Resizing the photos beforhand is important. you can either download the tools mentioned in the thread, or simply use MS Paint to get to done (which is what I do) As for my wishlist, right now at the top of the list are a replacement Phal Mini Mark, Neofinetia falcata 'shutenno', Milt specabilis var morelianna. Then the list goes on and on and on! :coverlaugh: |
Welcome to Orchid Board :welcomeflowers:
I hope you enjoy your first experience with an online comunity. You've come to the right place for that as we're a friendly bunch. Camille's already pointed you in the right place for tips on pictures so just dive in and enjoy  Oh and my wishlist just now is a replacement Vanda of some sort after killing the one I had. Perfect timing that my favourite nursery has just got new stock of them ;) |
Welcome aboard. Everyone here is exceptional and this is the right place for your first online community experience. I've been here almost a year and this was my first as well. I'm hooked now - almost as much as I am with my orchids, lol...

I appreciate the warm welcome and advice on posting. Thanks for taking the time! Looks like I'll need to resize, but will hopefully have some pics up soon (maybe this weekend).
