Rhyncolaelia(Brassavola) glauca bloom question

I realized last night that what I thought were 2 new growths are actually flower spikes. I was just wondering if anyone knew how long the spikes take to open up. The spikes are currently about 1/2" long and rather fat. They are outside and would love if it bloomed before I had to move it in for the winter. Thanks in advance!!

I don't have one of these so can't say, but was just giving it a bump.

I find that with the catts I do have, some develop very quickly in sheath and others take forever. If the buds are already quite fat and good sized, then it will likely bloom sooner rather than later (a month or two). By holding the plant up to the light you can usually see the buds thru the sheath. If the sheath starts to look soggy, you may want to very carefully slit it open a bit so that the buds don't get rotten from lack of air. I hope you post pictures when it is blooms!

I do have one, but it's a bit away from flowering. Would love to see some pics at this stage though. Pretty high light plant that one for sure!

I'm puzzled. How can there be any confusion between a new growth that comes from the base of the pseudobulb and a flower spike that emerges from a big sheath at the top of the pseudobulb? How do you even see a 1/2" spike inside the sheath? Strong backlight?

FWIW Rl. glauca almost always flowers in January, February or March.
