The photo is kind of small but it looks like some sort of citrus.

Yes here the same. It sure look like a citrus to me as well. Maybe when you post a bigger photo we can see it better.

Where are you located? That will help a lot in determining what it is.If you live in a cooler climate then we can exclude a lot of possibilites. And a larger photo would be very much appreciated, it is very hard to guess what it might be off such a small image.

I think those who suggested some kind of Citrus are on the right track. But rather than genus Citrus I think it may be genus Fortunella (kumquat) or most likely the hybrid genus xCitrofortunella (such as calamondin, xCitrofortunella microcarpa).

the key limes we get at the grocery store here somewhat look like that too but may be a bit larger compared to your photo.

The unknown plant

Hi all,
Thanks for your responses, I should have given more information about the plant I am trying to ID. I live in zone 10 south Florida. I have a kumquat, and a key lime tree, but the plant I am trying to figure out what it is doesn't resemble either of these. The "fruit" is about the size of a large pea when ripe, and is nothing more than seeds inside. The Mocking birds love the fruit so I am reluctant to remove it. I have tried to find a nursery to ID it but have not had much luck.

I have Strawberry and Lemon Guavas, and both have similar leaves to what you have there. Can you post a closeup pic of both the leaves and the fruit?

I will try. I took the picture with my phone, but I could try to use a camera. It may take me awhile to get a picture posted. I looked up the Lemon Guavas and the fruit is too big and the flowers are not the same.
