I just signed up to this Forum so here some information on myself.
I live in Spain, in a ville called Rubi, close to Barcelona.
Some time I ago I started with a single Phalaenopsis and since it didn't die I bought another one, and then another and another...
Now I'm the proud owner of 10 Phals, 1 Oncydium, 2 Cymbidiums, 3 Dendrobiums Kingianum, 1 Dendrobium Nobile, 1 Ludisia Red Velvet, 1 Vanda.
I signed in to this site in the hope of finding lots of information on cultivating these beautiful plants.

Nice collection so far. :) Is it difficult for you to get the Cyms and Den kingianum to bloom in your climate?

I don't know. I just bought them a few weeks ago and it isn't the time to bloom.
Mid September, when it's not so hot anymore, I'll put them outside so there is more difference in temperature between day and night. Hopefully this will work.

You might be able to leave them outside until they spike/bloom, depending on how cold it gets there. I have no idea what Barcelona's climate is like, other than very hot in the summer! Those plants can easily take temps down to 3-4°C, as long as they are not kept too wet.

Yes, I know. Here normally it doesn't get much under 4 - 5ºC. Ocasionaly temperature can get down to -2 to -5ºC, but that's seldom. My intention is leaving them outside just until the bloomspike(s) appear and them put them back inside to enjoy the blooming.
