Warm-growing Bulbos?
 

I have a few questions for the bulbo masters! :bowing I have just recently obtained the urge to diversify the genera I grow within my growing conditions, and the Bulbo/Cirrho alliance is one of the groups that have caught my interest. I know pretty much nothing about this group, but I would like to learn, a lot! So, I was wondering if you could think of a list of species that are warm growing (up to 30*C max during the summer, average of about 26.5*C during a summer day), have proportionately sized flowers, and have short rhizome lengths. Any help would be much appreciated! :biggrin:

Not sure I can really help. My Bulbo Jersey is doing fine in my house which must go up to similar temps at times. The flowers are a good size. Rhizome is not massive, there is a bit of a gap between p-bulbs but I've seen worse.

It's my only one though, so can't help with others.

There are a ton of small/minature warm growing Bulbos with proportionaly huge flowers and are relatively easy to grow. Provided you can keep them moist and have high relative humidity these should all do well in phal level light;

maquilingense
vaginatum
medusa
rugosum
pileatum
elassoglossum
pardolatum
blumei
nitidum

Most of those are relatively easy to find and bloom quite regularly. Bulbos are a great genus to grow and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Good luck.

I have a longissimum that has thrived at 80F - you need to cool it in winter though
