Brassidium question
About 3 months ago I got a brassidium intergeneric hybrid that had 8 pbs and a great root system and it was outgrowing it's pot. So I unpotted and repotted into a larger container. It's been in the container for about 2 months now has sent up the first flower spike which bloomed and is sending up a 2nd flower spikeand it has 4 newgrowths which are lookinggood. My worry is that I see 0 new root growth in the clear pot. My question is can an orchid continue flowering and growing with poor roots or is that a pretty good sign that te roots are in good shape?

Congrats on your spikes!
Your roots must be pretty good or it would not be blooming. After it finishes blooming you will probably see root growth. Joann |
Thanks Joann! Youre always the first to respond and so helpful! I was pleasantly surprised about these spikes! They both emerged shortly after the repot so i expected them to blast but the first one didnt with 6 nice flowers and the new spike is about 6 or so inches long! Glad the roots are ok (hopefully haha). I worry a lot about root rot since that seems to be my downfall on most orchids. I've learned though

I'm glad to be of help and can't wait to see your bloom pictures. Yes, watering can be tricky in the beginning, we've all killed our share:lol:
