Bulbophyllum fascinator (supposedly)
3 Attachment(s)
Well today I recieved my Bulbophyllum fascinator. Or so I thought. I have to say that the plant that I recieved looks nothing like a fascinator. The bulbs are to elongated and the leaves are a whole lot longer than a fascinators. I know all of this with the help of Google images and the fact that my mom recieved a fascinator yesterday. The two plants look nothing alike. My plant has probably been through Hell by the looks of it. Can anyone help identify my bulbophyllum? Here are some pictures of my plant and my mom's plant to compare.
Attachment 58019 My mom's fascinator. (we put the live moss back on top of the plant after repotting because it looks really cool.) Attachment 58020 My bulbophyllum. Look at how long the pseudobulb and leaf is compared to the first picture. Attachment 58021 |
Unlikely that it's fascinator, unfortunately - however, with Bulbos, as with so many other orchids, it's often nearly impossible to tell what it is until it actually blooms.

I think that you can safely assume that it is not fascinator, post a photo of it when it blooms and maybe we will be able to figure out what it is.
