Interesting. Ron, will these eventually open up more than this?

Beautiful, it makes me miss living in the mountains of New York. Years ago we did a rescue of a huge colony of Cypripedium reginae that were in the way of a road project. There were so many of them the construction was stopped until we removed every last one of them. They, minus a few, were all re-established in areas of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Thanks, Paul, Anisa, Lana, WhiteRabbit, and glengary, and Paul, they generally do not open more than this, though a few flowers are more open.

Excellent photo of a species rarely seen. Thanks for posting.

It's certainly very rare here. WE know of only a few sites and jealously guard the information.

Wow Ronald! Those are sooo beautiful!!! Love these rare flowers.
