Dryadella hirtzii flower has opened!
After waiting 10 days for the bud to open on this one, its finally started to open this morning!
http://static.flickr.com/1224/816119...3fc6f99f_d.jpg And, yes... there's more buds forming, so more flowers still to come! |
Also, just to give you some idea of how tiny this baby is...
here's a shot with a 50 pence piece in the background. The leaves are under 10cm, and the flower is only just over 1cm at its widest part. http://static.flickr.com/1085/816118...581067c1_d.jpg |
OMG! Got a magnifying glass! Well done you!
|
Actually, looking through the photos at IOSPE, this looks more like the photo that they have for Dryadella dodsonii.
Opinions?? Though the size matches hirtzii (1cm). |
Very cute, love the dryadella's
|
ooo I like this alot, very nice! :D
|
Yes, I love the dryadellas too! Going to have to add a few more to the collection! Good thing they don't take up much space.
Thanks everyone! And, yes, Todd, I'm about to get out my magnifying glass so that I can look at the details! Good idea! |
Way cool, shakkai!
|
Very nice! I am pretty sure that you actually have Dryadella simula...
I believe that Dry. dodsonii is red veined with slightly textured leaves like a Porroglossum. Dry. hirtzii is very similar to Dry. zebrina. ;) -Pat |
Cute!
