noid phal never seen this
 

:hello hopefully the title should say it all. Hopefully someone here has an idea what is on the petals of this noid phal. There are yellow and black spot on every single flower on this orchids petals. I have never seen this before on any phal. Because it is on every flower I don't think it is a mutation or is it? I hope you can see on the pics. Thanks for the ideas n:biggrin:

I'm soooo not an expert, but what I see (I think) - the 'black' spots look like just a small dark burgundy colored spot, and I don't think it's anything to worry about - I think it's just the coloring and pattern of this particular plant

Thanks whiterabbit it is really weird they are yellow when flowers first open then one of them turns almost black. I can't see it being a bug I thought it looked interesting so I bought it. Saved it from certain death (just add ice)

Looks like it was trying really hard to be peloric. The shape of the petals is a givaway. THe yellow is lip color. I wouldn't worry about it.

oh wow - that is interesting, and unusual (to me, anyway)
but I agree, I don't think it's a bug, or anything 'wrong' with the plant - just an interesting and unsual (?) anomaly maybe ?

Thanks again whiterabbit and hera makes me feel better that it's not something I should worry about :) and it kinda looks freaky lol.

That was my first thought too, semi-peloric. Congrats. I look everywhere for one and haven't found one yet.
