Dtps. Sogo Vivien... what a little temptress you are!
 

Hey everyone :) I hope you're all enjoying the weekend.

Some of you may have read that, in my order from Schwerter a couple of weeks/ 10 days ago, the spike on my Sogo Vivien had broken off in transit. Anyways, I put the broken bit in an egg-cup with some water and three of the buds have opened slightly :) I don't know if they will open fully (if they do, I'll post pics, of course ;)), but it does give me a hint of how pretty they are and now I can't wait to coax another spike out!

The veined type flowers aren't usually my thing (none of my other phals are like this), but I thought this one, being a mini and having variegated leaves as well was quite a package, looks like I was right :)

Edit: and, just for my own amusement, I've done a flower close up so you can see the bright yellow/ orange and speckles a bit better (during which, I also cut out my horrible looking thumb - the nail of which broke yesterday! oh dear, vanity is such a horrible thing!)

I have this one and she is a beauty. Congrats on the sneak peak.

oh my! lovely! I hope the blooms open more for you, but even if not, looks great!

Hi there I have a miniature Sogo grape - 2 yrs old and has bloomed 3 times. The blossom is beautiful.

I do like the veined ones and if it has variegated leaves to boot, you really did choose well!

The blooms have opened up a bit more now, so they're even more pretty :) I'll try and take a pic tomorrow as I've got a another phal which is asking for me to take pictures of it ;)

I think this is as open as they are going to get. They still seem quite happy in the egg cup though, which is nice :)
