Cymbidium disease
Seomeone have an idea about the disease of my Cymbidium hybrid.
The spots are located only on the leaves of the new growth. This is the picture of the upper page of the leaf http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../paginasup.jpg and this is the lower page http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2.../paginainf.jpg Ciao |
It looks like some sort of mechanical damage, like from wind , water, insect or sunburn through water droplets on leaves. The younger leaves would be a little more tender and more susceptible. I don't believe it is anything to worry about, I have seen similar looking marks on leaves of my cymbidium, unfortunately it remains until leaves fall off.

I have several cymbidiums as well with more then several spots like this. I will admit, when I first got my cymbidiums, I thought they were doomed....but it turns out there was really nothing to worry about....I have leaves that turn yellow....and the cyms just keep on growing! I have to say, my cymbidiums are the most care free plants I have, or at least the one's I worry least about...not sure why that is but it is nice! Now to see how they will do in an orchidarium, I am not sure if I will be able to keep them in there since they need a good temperature drop in the fall, but I can always put them outside in the fall if needed, summers are just to hot! Okay, I am done rambling on now :)
