Turbinicarpus alonsoi
Since I don't have any chids to show off today, and this little guy opened up this morning, I thought you might enjoy something different. The plant is native to Mexico and a very slow grower. It stays very small; about an inch to 1 1/4". Normally it will show a nice head of flowers and with age I trust mine will also.

Very sharp (no pun)...the brilliant colors of cacti are so cool. Such a contrast for most of them, you know such a pointy and painful plant, yet delicate flowers.

Beautiful! I love seeing stuff I had not seen before.

Lovely flower! Since it wasn't in bloom when I was last visiting, glad you posted it. :)
