Which phal to buy!!!
 

I have a choice to either buy Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope 'Golden Treasure' or Z-20594 Phal. K. V. Beauty '5701'. Which should I buy! I want the most robust orchid that will bloom the most and be the easiest!

They look about the same to me. Baldan's Kaleidoscope is known for being a good bloomer and vigorous.

Will the other one be vigorous like baldans kelidescope? the reason that i was asking this question was because there is a huge price difference between the two and one the other one is in spike that i wanted to buy, but like you said Kelidescope is very robust... Will the other one be robust too? they look about the same....? Thanks

I know Baldan's Kaleidoscope is known for being "robust" and it was one of my first orchids which I managed to kill after about 2 years. It bloomed pretty nice though and at least twice.

Hausermann sells nice plants and I would expect their plant to have a nice chance of surviving and doing well.

I always buy a plant assuming that I could lose it. You never know what will "attack" it...
Therefore, I go for a balance of quality and bloom potential.
I prefer phals in spike so I get at least one bloom from them :blushing:
However, I have bought smaller plants with a different expectation of growing them bigger etc. and getting a bloom in a few years. But I do not get angst if they fail to bloom etc. because my goal was different.

What if you can't get the non-spike plant to bloom?
Or it takes two years to bloom?
If you are okay with this possibility, get the one you know is "hardy"...the Baldan's
Otherwise, get the one in spike :twocents:

Lots of people will tell you how easy it is to pick up a phal and get it to spike and bloom it....don't listen to them :biggrin:

Get them all! :D
