Need some help ID-ing a bit of everything

Hey there. I just registered here- I like this forum so far!

I've got three orchids that didn't really have any good identification on them (I've got one Cymbidium "King Arthur" Green Giant seedling, so I do at least know what that is) so I would like some help in figuring out what I've got, if only for my own curiosity.

Here they are:

The first two are my Dendrobium (the tag says "DEN CM" and that's it- the flowers are probably either white or purple, but I don't know since the buds never opened), the second two are a Cattleyela with a tag that says "Love Passion Island..." something; don't know what the flowers are supposed to look like, since it's still a seedling and recovering from repotting and bagging so the root sheathes could stop being so dry, and the last is my first, a Phalaenopsis of some sort. Hope I get some help! If I don't, that's cool too... I know the approximate culture requirements for each since I've got a really good book and access to this forum. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum...

Your Cattleya is possibly Rhyncattleanthe (formerly Potinara) Love Passion 'Island Romance'. If so, it should have orange tone flowers of moderate size, somewhat star shaped open form and rather trumpet shaped lip marked in red near the tip. You may be able to find an image with a search.

The pictures are not appearing for me so I can't offer suggestions on the others.

Hi again crazymonkie,

I can't really help on the ID, other than that the first two pics are Dens as your already know, but I've edited your post to have URL's (links) to the pages you have your photos on. People should be able to click to see them now.

As explained in the intro thread there is a way to post these as images, but you need to get a different path for each one. Take a look in my link here for more info.

I did get to see the pictures this time. They seem to be potted in the right medium for each of them the one that says Pot. Love Passion 'Island Romance' is indeed Potinara Love Passion 'Island Romance' like PaphMadMan said. My only concern would be the Phalaenopsis. It's been potted straight up and this can cause crown rot due to water accumulated in the middle since it will take longer to evaporate or drain. I would either pot it at an angle or leave it in the pot as it is and angle it at 45 degrees or so. The 2 dendrobiums might not be able to identified.

Hey again! Thanks to RosieC for fixing the link issue.... I should have read up on that, since so many different forums are so different. In any case-

I've only got one of each- it's good to know that the big label (it has a picture of the flower) for the Cattleya is right; the flower supposedly will be orange.

As to the Phal- it is naturally tilting to about 85 degrees, and it's really hot right now, so I'm not worried about crown rot. Once things get more settled financially, and when I need to repot, I'm thinking about mounting it.

Oh, and if it helps in the id: There were two spikes, with flowers, and they were mostly purple, with some white in the middle.

The Dendrobium- yeah, I can see how that might not be easy to identify. Really all I want to know is if it's deciduous or not. That seems to be the dividing point for the book I have when it comes to culture.

Thanks much!

The Dendrobiums look like hard cane dendrobiums which tend not to be deciduous. This ones will produce an inflorescence with the buds arising from it not like the deciduous which will bloom on the canes after the leafs fall off.

crazymonkie - Rth. Love Passion is (Rlc. William Farrell X Ctt. Trick or Treat), if you do a google search you will find a picture of a really cute orange flower.
