What is this?

I found this on my B. Little Stars (Nodosa x Cordata 'Hihimanu') today. I have no idea what it is. Fungus? :(

There are no pests that I can see. So maybe fungus? I'm baffled.

I think they are eggs of something. I can't remember what it is, but there is something that lays it's eggs on stalks like that to keep them out the way of other pests. Hopefully someone else knows what it is that lays them like that.

Oooh, just found that they might be lacewing eggs. Lacewings are beneficial insects that eat aphids. Lacewings do not harm orchids.

It it were mine I would try and leave them and hope they hatch. I like Ladybirds (you would call them ladybugs) and Lacewings and things like that.

Wow! Nice photo and I've not seen anything like that before!
I hope Rosie is right ;)

Here is a link showing lacewing eggs. I'm certain that's what you have. They put them on stalks to stop ants from getting them.

I think you are right Rosie! I'm really glad I don't have an orchid killing bug or fungus! I will leave them alone. I haven't been plagued with any kind of pests so hopefully these beneficial buggies will find something to eat, or not? Yeah, not will be better!

Glad to hear they're eggs from the helpful insects. They are very cool looking.
