Hi all, I found this site while looking for orchid supplies and am I glad that I did, my name is Mike, I live in southern California and I'm addicted to orchids. I grow Phals, Paph's, Catt's, and some I don't know, I also have a 6' tall vanilla. I will try to post pictures as soon as I figure out how. I have read some of the posts and guess that my name is correct as I grow most of my orchids in a north facing sun room in aussie gold mix:scratchhead:

Hi Susanne, I have posted a few pictures of the orchids that I have in bloom today. Thank you for the help in posting the pictures. The pictures are posted in the members gallery. I'm sorry that the picture of the vanilla is not very clear but it is difficult to move outdoors for a better picture as it is tied to the stand.

Here is some info you may find helpful.

The San Diego County Orchid Society meets on the first tuesday of every month at Balboa Park in the Casa Del Prado building.
There are two meetings on that day.
Novice meeting starts at 6:30 pm in room 104.

General meeting starts at 7:30 in room 101.
Both meetings are lots of fun and provide great information. Also lots of nice people! We are usually there till 11 pm at night ;)
Guests are always welcome!

If you need a location closer then Balboa Park there is also the Palomar Orchid Society group. This months meeting date is July 18th.
Culture class starts at 6:30, meeting starts at 7:30 at the Carlsbad Womens Club.
