Portable Outdoor Fans?
Does anyone know where I could find one? I've looked online and only found a few that are outrageously expensive and look like they belong on a plane. The big box stores only carry indoor fans.
Any help would be appreciated. |
Most folks buy the cheapest box fan they can find (indoor type) and just replace them every few years.
Just make sure any electrical outlets outside are tied into a GFI outlet. |
I must admit I do that in my greenhouse. I worry about the safty a bit, but I know the outlet it's plugged into has an RCD (Residual Current Device, I think it's the UK equivalent of a GFI).
I'm not sure I would try it outside where I can't control the rain though. In my greenhouse it's in an area that does not get misted or any water except down below on the floor. |
Thanks Ants.
I'm temporarily using a desk fan and only run it when I'm at home. I keep an eye out for rain but I really would prefer an outdoor fan for extra safety in the event there's a stray shower and I don't make outside in time to remove the fan. The outdoor outlet has cover but I don't think it's GFI because it doesn't have the test/reset buttons. I'll have that changed. I did find two outdoor fans at better prices but the reviews were so so. |
