Best way to pack and move orchids

I am new to the forum, though I have been watching it for quite a while..
Also, this is my first post, so hopefully I've posted it in the right spot!

I have a pretty mixed up collection of orchids, I like to have one of everything, and a lot of them are pretty large. Also, about half are in SH, and the others are in either a bark mix or sphagnum moss.
I am moving this weekend from Ft. Worth to Austin, and was wondering what the best way is to move my collection of 40ish orchids. I've considered finding tall cardboard boxes to place them in, that would hopefully keep their stems from breaking on the road. Also, would it be best to wrap the base in some sort of saran wrap? I worry about having to chase the little primeagra beads all over the place :-)

Also, I'll attach a couple super fuzzy pictures of some of my plants, to give an idea of what we're dealing with.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Wrap the base so that the medium can't come out. There are special trays with holes designed to hold pots. I regulary get these as discards at garden centers. You can get these trays inside a cardboard box. Maybe even attach everything together.

mesh netting like used for carrots works well stretched over the top of the pot then secured with a rubber band. or put the whole pot into the bag make it easy, then secure with a rubber band.
You can put stakes into the pots, put the pots face to face to each other and then wrap them in newspaper. DO NOT USE SARAN WRAP. Some masking tape will secure the two pots, hydroballs and all in a neat little package. Now you can lay these all down inside a larger box, with more newspaper or peanuts. Just makes sure nothing wiggles and dont leave them in the car or van in the heat for too long. Heat is not your friend right now.

Welcome to the OB Rachel!

I would crumple newspaper and press onto the top of each pot and secure with masking tape over the paper and down both sides of the pots. It is cheap, easy to apply and remove without disturbing the plants. Also easy to slide down between growths if needed.

Drain the S/H pots first.

You can set the pots into some of those greenhouse plant trays designed to hold potted plants and then set them into a tall box. Could even tape the pot down onto the trays.
