Paphiopedilum 'Harold Koopowitz'. Who owns this ?

I'm looking to add this Paph to my collection - saw a pic of it, fell in love with it, so would like some feedback and input from anyone who currently has this Paph in their collection. thanks.

You should try it. The flowers are beautiful but they, most of Parvi x rothschildianum crosses, tend to be VERY reluctant bloomer. :(( I heard that they need to have some significant temparature drop in winter ( not sure how low, though ) to initiate the spike in spring.

About 6 years ago, there are quite a few of Harold Koopowitz for sale at the show and most of them were in bud. I chose the one without a bud, however it had more growths hoping it will put out multiple spikes. "DUH" It just grew and grew and grew. I then got tired of taking care of it ( at the time it had 4 matured growths with a few babies ). I sold it to my friend at the OS. Another few years have passed. He finally got it bloomed. The flower is so big and it received an AM at the judging.

That being said, one of my Paph. Gloria Naugles ( micranthum x rothschildianum ) has been so reluctant to bloom for the last 8 years, but all the sudden it decided to bloom.

If you decided to get it, please be patient. :)
