you watch these grow longer section by section by section and wonder when its going to bud? notice this bud has a sheath consisting of upper and lower parts..The sections of the spike only has 1 :)

so when you see yours section by section grow you know you got a growing bud when that last section has 2 parts


(insert 3 ft section of that spike here :rofl:)

And you're so right! They just grow and grow and grow forever until finally... here come the buds!

Awesome. I'm hopeful mine will rebloom after the first got knocked off, and the second one died. Finger's crossed

always get a picture of the flowers :) it fell off already and has another one right behind it

I've got 4 spikes in bloom at once now!
One of which, the bud had fallen off a couple of month ago.
