Draft Horse Plowing Competition
Thought you might like to see some pics of these amazing horses taken at the 70th International Plowing Competition here in the town where we live:

What lovely horses :) (even though I first read the thread title as 'daft horse'! We have a similar event in the autumn where I live, but they have a tractor event as well.... presumably ours is in the autumn because in the spring we have the beer festival at the vineyard and it takes us all that long to recover :scratchhead:

Very funny comment! Fun events and we have a tractor contest as well but that's during the summer.

Great photos Ron. Thanks for sharing.. I love local things like this. Wish I had your eye for photography. :D

Thanks for looking and commenting, Angel. I'm convinced that anyone can take good pictures if they just keep practicing and working at it.

There's a video on the blog post.

Great photos, Ron. I love watching draft horses and we have ploughing competitions here on Vancouver Island too.

Wow! They're huge! Is that a typical size for a horse? I ask as a mere city boy - never having seen an actual horse up close. What a cool thing to have nearby!
|
Thanks, Shirley, and lund, these horses are quite a bit bigger than an ordinary riding horse.
|
Beautiful horses. They look incredibly alike... are they secretly cloned? ;)
