Onc. Twinkle 'Snow'
I just picked one of these guys at the Phoenix orchid show today, and don't know anything about it. :blushing: I haven't ventured in to the world of oncidiums yet, so I'm hoping that this little guy works out for me. I can't find any pictures of what the blooms look like. But it's healthy, has a dozen or so pbulbs, and 3 spikes with buds forming. Still probably 2-4 weeks from blooming, but I'm excited! :D

I love twinkles so much I have 3 (red, yellow, and white)!! In my experience they're a really easy oncid and the leaf growth is nice and compact... Bloom pics would be great!!

Moderate light, and in my experience they like to just get dry in between watering, but not be sitting dry for very long. I previously rotted one, keeping it moist, as I do most of my oncidium alliance plants - the one I have now, I make sure it's dry, or very nearly so, before watering.

Nice little acquisition :) It took me a little while to get used to my Onc - it's only a young plant but the first bulb it grew for me ended up quite stunted and it's leaves got all accordioned! (I think I took the whole 'let it dry out' a bit too far!) Thankfully, I seem to have got the hang of it and subsequent growth is fine and going well :)
Good Luck :) |
