Honohonos in Bloom in Hawaii
 

Den. anosmum and its hybrids (called Honohono in Hawaii) are in full bloom in many backyards in the islands. The flowers are very popular because of their sweet fragrance. Lavender is the most common color and the most fragrant.

I got one from a local grower who bought some from Hawaii. Mine is well over 5' tall. It would be interesting to see just how they were packed for shipping.
I would post a picture but my plant is past its prime. There's always next year, however. :)

The honohono season is winding down in Hawaii. We are at the tail end of the season. Once the flowers are gone, we start the growing process over again for the next blooming season. Anyway, here are my parting shots for the season.

RJ: When I went to Clown Alley, there were only two left. I took the largest one. John indicated to me that he had bought around a dozen and I know he took at least some of them to shows. The one I bought had won a ribbon at the last show. Maybe if you hint, he might get some more next year. Are you coming to the show this weekend?
