This is my display.(if the photo loaded) Its made out of reclaimed white oak.the base 48"x31"x36". It has fiberglass basin on the inside about 3 inches deep, so I can water in place. I also have ultrasonic fogggers in the basin to provide humidity. Most plants are in semi-hydro. Lighting is a 400 watt metal halide. I want to add a wall along the back to mount mostly phals to. I was originally thinking two pieces of chicken wire with sphagnum moss sandwiched between them. but a post on green or living walls and Rays suggestion of ecoweb has me leaning that way. either way i will likely use a pump to auto water it. the excess will run down into the reservoir. any input on the wall is greatly appreciated! thanks for looking.http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/...orchids022.jpg |
That is a very nice set up and display.
Is it enclosed? |

Love it! I like your idea of chicken wire and moss. And what is your floor made of? Is your resevoir beneath it?
Ann |
yes the resevoir is directly beneath the table surface. which is flourecent light louvres. I bought a piece of fleece from walmart, strethced it across the table and stapled the edges. then i put some wieght on the fleece to make a tub shape. Then i poured fiberglass resin onto the fleece. when it cures its waterproof.
