L. Lobata 'Jeni' Am/AOS
|
WOW! Now that's a white flower........beautiful!!!
|
Bolero,
In fact this wonderful clone has a very pale pink color, and is considered a 'concolor' cultivar! DebsC, Congrats, you have one of most beautiful (and endagered in nature) brazilian Laelias! There are five main varieties of L. lobata: type, alba (one of the few completely white orchids in nature), concolor (and concolor 'jeni' - maybe 'jenny' - is the best concolor), coerulea and the super-rare semi-alba. I'm looking for the last two varieties! |

By the way, I've heard of lobata var. violacea. Frederico, do you know how it looks like? The vendors in your country sell coerulea, so it is not difficult to buy, but it costs 400 USD

Hi Shadow,
I never heard about L. lobata violacea, maybe it's one particular dark 'type' cultivar (?) You are right, coerulea is available for trade, but the prices are too expensive for me... Emerson Hulman has both (coerulea and semi-alba, see the pics at Orquídeas Salto-SP - Emerson Hullman - the first and the last one), but only coerulea 'Athayde' is available for trade, U$ 150,00 a piece with 4 pbulbs ( Orquídeas Salto-SP - Emerson Hullman ) |
