What do you pot your Cymbidium in?
 

I have one in a clay pot currently, but want to put it something nicer looking. The pot has some salt deposits starting so I need to get it out of there and into a new home.

I'm confused if I should use plastic or terra cotta though, as well as the appropriate size.

Mine are in plastic, I think they need to be tall pots for Cyms, although the last one I repotted went in a more standard shape pot.

I actually use squat pots for mine due to the wind constantly knocking them over. And they seem to be doing fine, though I haven't seen any blooms since. But Being that I'm new to cyms, that could be based on a number of cultural factors

most of mine are in regular plastic nursery pots - give an inch to two inches for new growth

Mine are in tall plastic 8" pots they came in. As it has been windy, knocking cymbidiums on the ground, I had purchased large 10" ceramic pots (I found good price at local Lucky's).

I had placed the cymbidiums as is inside ceramic pots and filled large gaps with rocks for stability. It looks nice and stable, but very heavy to move around.

yes, those tall cym pots blow over very easily - the one cym that I do have potted in a cym pot, is also in a cache basket to help it remain upright

I grow mine in Stalite Gravel and love the stuff - so do the plants. Also notable is that a huricane blew trees right out of the ground next to the shade house and not one cymbidium blew over. Not easy to carry many to meetings but the weight does serve a purpose. I use the semi-hydrpoponic method or at least something similar - outside in Florida even with all the rain we get.

recently switched mine over to small rockwool cubes (1/4-1/8 inch), and they seem to be doing well. Both of my larger cyms are on the verge of blooming, as well

I grow mine in semi-hydro. They take to it like mad.
