sphag & bag - lighting
Hello, I have just soaked & bagged (with sphagnum moss) a resuce plant that is more dead than alive (the plant was free) and would like to know if I should do anything more than wait. What light levels do you keep the plant in while in the bag? Right now its getting fairly low light but I could increase it.

Hi! I recommend to read the following link as it should answer all of your questions:
Sphag-n-Bag The plants I have in sphag-n-bag are next to my table that has a plant light, but not directly under it and I have many plants that are growing new roots. It has taken 3+ weeks so far to see results and they will need to stay in there until the roots get a little longer (I have been told the roots need to be around one to three inches) so patience is a must, which I am short on :) Hope the link to the website will help you! |
spag n bag
Hi Becca, thanks for sending me the link. I soaked the plant but didn't do anything like preparing the mixture Ray mentioned so I think I will have to redo it.
thanks! mary |
I place mine in an area of lower light than the healthy type of orchid would need.

violeca comment
Hi Oscarman, I was "peeking" at your Gallery shots and noticed you have a purple/blue violeca. Is the culture much the same as the most of the other phals or does it needs high humidity? I have order my first violeca & hope to get it in about 2 weeks. Would you know who I could go to to order a BLUE violeca? I have doubts the one I ordered is blue (it was ordered through my club) but I really wanted one of these guys.
