Vanda help

Hi all,

My vanda (ascda red fire) is not going well. The plant was transported for 8 days, I have it since monday. Today, friday here how it looks

Here are the roots

It goes yellow at the base and I loose two leafs. I keep it in vase and soak it almost every day for 15-20 min. Dried quickly. What is wrong? What should I do or not to do ?

Nice plant , They will lose a lower leaf or 2 I noticed a new root has split one of the leaves that happens, not anything to worry about, it has a good root system plant looks good to me .. Happy Growing Gin

It looks better than the 2 that I just bought. One of mine is a $10 rescue plant that has lots of roots but not plump like yours. I was going to put it in a vase, but it has too many roots and they would sit on the bottom. It looks as if it was ignored for a long time, and I think it will loose a couple of leaves like yours.

I agree with Gin. Vandas love water and your plant is probably just sulking because it was deprived for a while. A second or third soaking each day for the next few weeks should aid the plant to recovery. Be sure to let the roots dry out a few hours between soakings.

That makes sense to me. That is what I have been doing with mine. I had everyone soaking in the tub for half an hour this morning, including air plants.

Thank you for your posts. Today I notice that roots dry quickly, so afternoon I soak again for 10 minutes. So I will keep you posted after few days
