Frustration with Valentines Day...

So, you would think that since Valentine's Day is Monday, that places would be selling more orchids and a better variety of them as well. I have been calling and going to places to try and get myself a "WOW" plant.. I would like something other than an Phal, being that I have 4 of them.... But all the flower shops around here are 1) not selling any orchids at all 2) selling Phals at ridiculously high prices 3) Only selling Phals and nothing else. Now I love my Phals, but I want some variety!!

What is going on?!?! Is anyone else having these same frustrations? :scratchhead:

Around here there's lots of variety at the moment. I was at a greenhouse this morning that had Phals, Dendrobiums, Cattaleyas, and Cymbidiums. Mainly they had Phals, but the 6" Cats were on sale for $29.99.

Try Oak Hill Gardens. It's in IL.

You might check out Trader Joe's. I don't know about the orchid selection at TJs. The ones near me at least do seem to have more orchids, and more variety around some holidays. Trader Joe's

Looks like they have a few stores in and near Chicago
