Looking for ID for my Cymbidium
Hello,
I have a Cymbidium that was a gift to my mother from a friend and after surviving LOTS of neglect for about half a year, she decided to give it to me for pity of the plant for surviving all this...Anyway,a little after starting to take care of it,i found a nice spot in my Pyrgos Garden and planted it in the ground in a rich soil i amended heavily with pine bark and has since been flowering every December-January. I would like your help to ID this plant and learn if its a pure species or a hybrid. Its tag and plastic packaging only wrote ''Cymbidium'' on so they weren't much help. Here is a photo of the plant... http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t.../IMG_2617a.jpg ..and a close up of one of its flowers http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t.../IMG_2616a.jpg Thank you very much in advance! |
It's a hybrid and therefore impossible to identify further than you already have.

Thank you very much for your reply ronaldhanko!
Thats very unfortunate. I will have to give it away and replace it with a true species Cymbidium :( Well,i knew it would most probably end up that way... If anybody here want it for shipping price,i am willing to send it when spring comes ;) |
