Floods in Queensland, Australia

Australian flooding - The Big Picture - Boston.com

This is your own Boston Globe News. This really is the big picture of what is happening to the people here, terrific photos. It is still raining here today.

Thank you for sharing those photos. Such a disaster is almost unimaginable. I hope none of our OB members have suffered such terrible losses.

:)

This is my favorite continent in the entire planet! I send my prayers and regards to you all and especially the Animals!

Hopefully Natasha, it will not, but the forecast for the next 2 months, with cyclones predicted off our coast, will only make it worse.

My favorite too Michael, USA second. Everyone here is saving our native wild life. Didn't you love the picture of the man in his boat with kangaroos he had rescued. It seemed they knew he was saving them and stayed still in the boat. So far we have only lost 3 lives.

The photos are both stunning and heart wrenching. But I can't help but be even more impressed by the resiliency of spirit that so many people in your country are displaying (and yes, it's equally impressive that they are, in many cases, selflessly looking out for the animals too). Hopefully all the rain will stop soon and the long road to rebuilding what's been destroyed can begin. Best wishes to all of our Australian board members who've been affected by this catastrophe.
