Vanda 4n hybrid with yellowing of middle leaves
2 Attachment(s)
Hi
Recently i procured a Vanda hybrid 4n and after few weeks the middle two leaves started yellowing and then drying, it apperas to be some kind of a fungal infection(?). There are no wet spots and the plant is in a dry condition. I have enclosed the images. I have sprayed Bavistin (systemic fungicide). Could anybody throw light on this and whether bavistin will take care or should i go for something else thanks sastry |
I'm sorry I cannot help as I know nothing about vandas but am giving this a "bump" so hopefully someone with experience will chime in.

Hi Sastry ,
How many roots does it have below the yellow leaves ? and how often do you water ? I hate to tell u this but it does not look good I had one do that no wet rot but in the main stem the core was dried out . Sometimes they will lose a leaf at the bottom and sometimes in the middle but not several of them . i think the systemic fungicide should help if anything will .. Good luck with it .. Gin |
Hi Gin
The plant has quite a root system but appears to be sort of dry and i just diiped the entire root system in a water tub. What do you think of the younger leaves which are still green and have not been infected. Hoping for the best. Thanks a lot for the sugestions sastry |
Hi ,
The younger leaves look fine you might just lose the ones that are affected now, hard to say for sure, or what ever it is could travel up to them if that happens don't throw out the plant set it aside and water it might produce a basal plant . I water mine every day till the roots are green . |
