More First Rays
got 4 more paphs from Mr Ray and well they are humongous and will test my ability or lack of them no doubt.
WOW...I dont know what they are feeding these plants but I want some!!! the 4 paphs centered here fit right in on my shelf :) the largest one, an olympian yard x maiden paradise has a wing span, (not leaf span) of over 22" the plant itself is going to have to be staked  the paph honey is just beautiful with 3 buds! and of course I cant order anything without the token hsinying genetic material So if you havent ordered From Ray and he has anything at all you need, dont hesitate. But you better hurry he has such great plants and they dont last long!! Thanks again Mister Ray!!!:bowing herd shot!! I was having Fun!!! |

I cant put my finger exactly what it is actually without a doubt, but I'm convinced that added calcium and magnesium do wonders for a paphs shine and healthy glow. And being happy paphy helps too ya know. I have been told that many greenhouse growers also use these items ...maybe why their plants always have that shiny wet glowing look.
Peters Cal Mag is what I started using not to long ago when I graduated from making my own paph mix. Pretty happy with it. I also add Superthrive every watering which is just plant vitamins :) All told its a total package deal..figure out what your water is doing (hard, soft, PH, TDS )and use the fertilizer to compliment that water. You too can have shiny paph leaves. I wipe them off routinely too bec my place is a dust bowl..Lots of construction around me so I collect dust and dirt as my other hobby. Plants cant breathe dust either so you have to keep em wiped down..Its a lot of work is what Im saying. |
Thanks for the advice! I use RO water with the MSU fert for pure water. I usually use about 1/4 strength for the paph I have. But I must admit that I have been underwatering it and that is probably my problem.

I have been told now its "silica" that provides the nice shiny strong leaves :)
learning something new everyday is a goal |
What happened to the pictures? LOL
Careful where you put that stake! |
I guarantee I was NOT responsible for the growth of ANY of those in the "new" photos!!!!
