Eulophia petersii - Oman
This is one of the most intresting orchids into my collection.
I got it at the start of June just 1 pseudobulb. http://images40.fotki.com/v1333/phot...SC01725-vi.jpgHosted on Fotki Now it looks like that http://images52.fotki.com/v1563/phot...ersii_5-vi.jpgHosted on Fotki |
What a cool shape. I've just looked it up and it has cool flowers too. The info I found says it's one of the few that grow in desert climates.

Yes RosieC,is actually a xerophyte orchid.
As I grow mostly cactus & succulents this was an addition to both of my collection succulents & orchids. Thank you for your comment,as always you are so kind! |
woah! I didnt expect to see something like that :) Very unusual looking. How do you take care of it? Does it require winter rest?

Anisa,
This is actually terrestrial orchid. The soil mix is a cactus soil mix with extra grit.It needs a lot of sun and at the growing season 1-2 waterings per week. From now on I will keep it dry for the winter and with a lot of sun.(we have a lot of sunny day even in the winter, here in Athens GR.) |
